Sprint Your Way To A Sexier Body

One of the best exercises to lose fat is a simple as a few sprints! Studies have shown that 4-6 all out sprints have decreased body fat for an active woman by as much as 8% and dropping their waist circumference by a couple inches. (Hazell TJ1, Hamilton CD, Olver TD, Lemon PW.)

Now before you go out to your track and start sprinting your head off, make sure you are able to keep up with the demands of this high intensity exercise. One of the best ways to ensure that is to have proper coaching to reinforce good mechanics and get rid of poor ones that leave you susceptible to injury. This method also saves more time than your classic treadmill or elliptical routine. In a day where some gym goers are spending the equivalent of a full work day on the treadmill, they could regain time with their family or some personal reflection time with a routine like this that will cut it from 8 hours to 1.5-2 hours. What would you do with that amount of time?

 

Sample Sprint Workout:

Run 400m as a warmup

2x50m sprint at 70%

2x75m sprint at 80%

2x100m Sprint at 90%

4-6 200m Sprint at Max Effort (4 minutes rest after each)

Jog slowly for 800m to cool down
